Thailand’s development cooperation is channeled through the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA). Established in 2005, NEDA collaborates with neighboring countries in economic and social development to expand trade and investment opportunities.

Thailand has also been involved with ADB’s nonsovereign operations through ADB’s Trade and Supply Chain Finance Program (TSCFP), which comprises the Trade Finance Program (TFP) and the Supply Chain Finance Program (SCFP).

ADB’s TFP had supported 930 Thai export and import transactions (through Thai and non-Thai banks) to developing Asia valued at over $230.5 million as of December 2020. Exports and imports were to seven countries, but mostly to Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Viet Nam. Isolating TFP’s work with Thai banks, the TFP works with 1 bank operating in Thailand and has provided guarantees supporting $1.5 million in trade in over 21 transactions. Furthermore, ADB’s SCFP supported $11.8 million in trade over 46 transactions as of December 2020 in Thailand. The SCFP mobilized $5.9 million in cofinancing in the said country. This cofinancing helps leverage ADB resources and brings more support for developing members as well as exports, imports, growth, and job creation.
