ADB works with Denmark’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which administers development cooperation. The Danish International Development Agency under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is responsible for the planning, implementation, and quality assurance of Denmark’s development cooperation.

Denmark’s priority interests include security and development; migration and development; inclusive, sustainable growth and development; and freedom and development.
Denmark’s priority countries are Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Myanmar. In the past, country policy papers also existed for the following Asian countries: Indonesia, Nepal, Pakistan, and Viet Nam.
As of December 2020, ADB’s Trade Finance Program (TFP) has supported 26 Danish export and import transactions (through Danish and non-Danish banks) to developing Asia valued at over $41.4 million. Exports and imports were to nine countries, but mostly to Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Isolating TFP’s work with Danish banks, the TFP works with one bank domiciled in Denmark and has provided guarantees supporting $600,000 in trade in one transaction.
